Mounted Magnetometer

The mounted magnetometer consists of a sturdy compass box fitted with an aluminum dial approximately 100 mm in diameter. The dial is graduated from 0° to 90° four times and includes an anti-parallax mirror for accurate readings.

A magnetic needle mounted on a fine agate bearing is fitted with an aluminum pointer, providing smooth movement and adequate damping for precise observations.

The compass box is securely mounted at the centre of a polished wooden base made from non-warping wood for stable operation.

A meter scale graduated from 0 to 50 cm is provided on either side of the compass box for convenient measurement and experimental alignment.
