Simple Galvanoscope

A simple galvanoscope is used to detect the presence of electric current and provides a basic indication of its magnitude.

The instrument consists of a durable plastic former fitted with convenient socket terminals for electrical connections.

A circular scale is provided with markings at 45° intervals, along with a 75 mm magnetic needle supported on brass bearings for smooth movement.

A coil consisting of 30 turns of enameled copper wire generates a magnetic field that deflects the needle when current passes through the coil.

The galvanoscope operates on a 4–8 V supply.
