Proof Plane

The Proof Plane is a conductive disc mounted on an insulated handle and is designed for physics experiments involving electrostatic charge distribution. It is used to sample the charge density present on charged conductive surfaces. The proof plane consists of an ebonite rod fitted with a brass disc of approximately 50 mm diameter. By touching the proof plane to a charged surface, it acquires a similar charge distribution, allowing the charge present on the surface to be investigated and measured.
