Abdominal Organ Chambers for Large Animal Liver or Kidney for Physiology Lab Flexible, standard jacketed and fully heated chamber designed for ex vivo perfusion of most abdominal organs from large animal models. Suitable for perfusion studies involving pig liver or pig kidney, including transplantation studies, xenotransplantation studies and pharmacological research using blood or erythrocyte-containing perfusate. The chamber is designed to maintain isolated organs under physiological temperature conditions and supports organ perfusion for periods ranging from a few hours to one day. Application Examples :

Pig Liver :

• Pig liver is placed in a moist, thermostated chamber and perfused with blood or erythrocyte-containing perfusate through the portal vein under constant-flow conditions
• A centrifugal pump with gentle action on blood is used to reduce hemolysis
• Constant flow is maintained by an electronic controller when using a pump that does not provide constant flow or pressure
• Chamber dimensions used in the application example: 400 × 300 × 180 mm

Pig Kidney :

• Pig kidney is placed in a smaller moist, thermostated chamber
• The kidney is primarily perfused under constant-pressure conditions
• Renal artery and renal vein are used for cannulation
• Chamber dimensions used in the application example: 260 × 200 × 210 mm

Perfusion System Requirements :

• Centrifugal pump with gentle action on blood to reduce hemolysis
