Compact Black and White Test for Behavioral Research test

The Compact Black and White Test is designed for quick evaluation of animal anxious behavior and its modification by pharmacological agents by assessing animal movement between two compartments with different sizes, colors and illumination. The experimental box is constructed of Perspex and consists of a small black compartment and a larger white compartment separated by a connecting gate. Each compartment has a removable Perspex floor matching the color of its walls, with 90 × 90 mm sectors delimited by lines. The compartments are independently illuminated to create a strong dark-light contrast. A weight transducer system can be used for automated animal detection, with up to 8 experimental chambers connected to a PC-based control system for data storage and analysis. The system is manufactured by Atico Export for reliable performance in animal behavioral and pharmacological research.
