The Electronic Von Frey is designed for rapid and reproducible determination of mechanical sensitivity thresholds in rodents. The stimulus is applied to the central edge of the animal hind paw, and the paw withdrawal response is detected while the corresponding applied force is recorded and displayed on the instrument. The system provides objective measurement without the temperature or humidity drift associated with conventional manual filaments, while the threshold can be obtained in a single test. The ergonomic stimulus handle, interchangeable hard and soft tips, automatic endpoint recording, and optional embedded video provide convenient and accurate stimulation positioning. The system can also display real-time force curves and store measurement values for further analysis.
