The Forced Exercise / Walking Wheel Bed is designed for conducting controlled exercise and sleep deprivation paradigms in mice. The sturdy exercise bed supports up to 10 individual exercise/walking wheels, with each wheel positioned in its own running track and supported by cushioned non-slip grips. A large removable stainless steel waste pan provides convenient waste collection and cleaning. Wheels can be added or removed while the system is operating. The system can be placed on rubber feet or permanently mounted to a flat surface or workbench and can be easily disassembled for cleaning. A handheld LCD interface allows the user to set exercise/walking speed, exercise time, rest time and number of cycles, while a built-in USB interface allows connection to a Windows computer for flexible control of scheduled exercise parameters.
