Magnetic Field Demonstration

• This apparatus is designed for the study and demonstration of magnetic fields produced by current-carrying conductors of different shapes.
• The conductors are mounted on clear transparent acrylic bases, allowing convenient use for classroom and overhead projection demonstrations.
• Each conductor is provided with a pair of 4 mm socket terminals for electrical connections.
• The magnetic effects produced by each conductor can be observed using iron filings or plotting compasses.
• It includes the following conductor arrangements:

A. Long Solenoid :

• A solenoid coil measuring approximately 52 × 125 mm (Diameter × Length), wound with 16 SWG enameled copper wire.
• Each turn is sufficiently spaced and well insulated from adjacent turns.
• Maximum current: 8 A.

B. Vertical Wire :

• A copper wire of 16 SWG mounted in a U-shaped configuration.
• Maximum current: 8 A.

C. Vertical Coils :

• Consists of 1-turn and 5-turn coils mounted side by side on a base.
• Each coil has separate pairs of terminal connections for electrical supply.
• Maximum current for the 1-turn coil: 8 A.
• Maximum current for the 5-turn coil: 5 A.
• The combined magnetic effect of both coils can be investigated when current flows through them.

D. Simple Circular Coil :

• Consists of a single-turn circular coil made from 16 SWG copper wire and mounted vertically on a base.
• Coil diameter: approximately 55 mm.
• Maximum current: 8 A.

E. Set of 4 Coils :

• Includes one long solenoid, one vertical wire, a pair of vertical coils, and one simple circular coil.
