Plethysmometer for Behavioral Research test

The Digital Water Plethysmometer is designed for accurate measurement of small volume changes and is commonly used to monitor experimentally induced inflammatory responses in rodents and to screen potential anti-inflammatory or anti-oedema properties of pharmacological substances. The volume transducer consists of two interconnected Perspex tubes filled with a conductive solution, with a platinum electrode in each chamber. When the animal paw is immersed in the measuring tube, water displacement produces a change in conductance between the electrodes, which is detected by the control unit and displayed as the measured volume displacement with a resolution of 0.01 ml. The system provides automatic zero adjustment between successive readings, eliminating the need for intermediate manual adjustments. A remote foot switch enables rapid hands-free measurement control, while optional data transfer software allows collected data to be visualized and exported to a computer for further analysis.
