The Rat Misstep Wheel with Living Chamber is designed for gait studies and general activity studies in rats or similar-sized animals. The polycarbonate running wheel features removable anodized aluminum rods, allowing individual rods or a series of rods to be removed to create misstep configurations for gait research. The rods are securely attached to the wheel rims and can be removed by loosening the retaining screws. The wheel provides a large internal diameter and low turning resistance for comfortable animal movement. The autoclavable polycarbonate tub and bottle, stainless steel lid and food hopper support convenient cleaning and maintenance. The sensor/counter component can be removed without tools, while the wheel portion can also be removed easily for cleaning.
