The Tethered Rat Wheel is designed for monitoring voluntary running activity in tethered rats. It features durable stainless steel and polycarbonate construction and is supplied without the motor assembly, while allowing a motor unit to be added in the future. The fold-down side simplifies animal placement and removal, while the narrow side slot accommodates a drug line or electrode cable connected to a suitable swivel or commutator. A mounting bracket is included for support arms and swivels, and the removable hopper and bottle holder provide ad lib access to food and water. A stainless steel waste pan and polycarbonate water bottle with stainless steel sipper tube are included.
