A continuous temperature gradient is established over a 120 cm long base plate, allowing the animal to move freely and select its preferred temperature zone. The system provides an automated approach for analgesia and nociception research, particularly studies involving thermal sensitivity and allodynia. The stable temperature gradient across the surface and over time allows accurate identification of the animal's preferred temperature zone. Integrated software and video monitoring enable analysis of the time spent by each animal in different temperature zones and the overall distance travelled. Video and encrypted experimental data are recorded synchronously in real time, supporting behavioral review and GLP-compliant research workflows.
