+91 98967 93832Stirred tank reactors can be operated continuously or discontinuously. Discontinuous stirred tank reactors are commonly used when the product quantities are small or when reactions are slow. Continuous stirred tank reactors enable reliable production of larger quantities with consistent quality.
This stirred tank reactor is designed for practical experiments to study the function and behavior of a stirred tank reactor in continuous and discontinuous operation. It is connected to a suitable supply unit that provides the heating water circuit, necessary connections, pumps, reactant tanks and product tank.
The reactor is mounted onto the supply unit and securely positioned using two pins. Quick-release couplings allow easy connection between the reactor and supply unit. During continuous operation, pumps deliver the reactants into the reactor. A stirrer ensures homogeneous mixing and increases direct contact between the reactants.
The product is formed through the reaction of the reactants. The mixture of product and unconverted reactants leaves the reactor through a variable-height overflow and is collected in a tank. The adjustable overflow allows the reactor volume to be changed, while the retention time can be adjusted through the pump speed.
A chambered stainless-steel bottom functions as a heat exchanger for studying the influence of temperature on the reaction. Conversion is determined by measuring conductivity, while conductivity and temperature can be digitally displayed and recorded for further analysis.
