Measuring the flow rate is an important aspect of fluid measurement technology. This experimental unit allows students to become familiar with different methods of measuring fluid flow in pipe systems and apply them through practical experiments.

The unit includes various flow measuring instruments, designed with transparent housings to provide clear visualization of their operation and working principles. The available methods include a rotameter, Venturi nozzle, orifice plate flow meter and measuring nozzle.

Tube manometers are provided to determine the pressure distribution in the Venturi nozzle, orifice plate flow meter and measuring nozzle. A Pitot tube is used to measure the total pressure. The experimental unit can be positioned easily and securely on a suitable base module work surface. Water can be supplied through the base module or alternatively through a laboratory water supply.
