Introducing the Refrigeration Teaching Equipment

This equipment is designed as a basic introduction to refrigeration through simple and clear practical experiments. It enables users to become familiar with the operation and handling of a refrigeration system.

The experimental unit includes the essential components required for a functional refrigeration circuit, including a compressor, condenser, evaporator and needle valve as the expansion element. Additional components include a display and control panel, receiver, pressure switches, pressure display, flow meter and sight glass with filter/drier.

The condenser is available as an air/refrigerant heat exchanger, while the evaporator is provided in two configurations: air/refrigerant heat exchanger and water/refrigerant heat exchanger. This allows different component combinations and simple refrigeration circuits to be assembled.

The components are mounted on plates to form installation-ready modules. Six modules can be positioned in the lightweight frame at one time and connected using hoses and supply cables. The receiver is provided as a separate module and can be integrated into the refrigeration circuit as required.

The experiments initially demonstrate the processes within the equipment and changes in the refrigerant state. Further experiments allow the equipment to be operated as a refrigeration system. Pressure, flow rate and compressor power consumption are displayed as important operating parameters, while temperature is measured using thermometers.
