Secondary Controllers in Refrigeration Systems Teaching Equipment

Secondary controllers are used to ensure optimum operation of large and complex refrigeration systems. They regulate important operating parameters such as evaporation pressure, compressor intake pressure, compressor capacity, condensation pressure and receiver pressure. This trainer allows students to study the operation and effects of different secondary controllers in a practical refrigeration system.

The secondary controllers can be disabled by bypassing or blocking them, allowing practical fault-finding exercises. By adjusting the controllers, students can examine their influence on the overall system performance. Manometers at important points and a manual thermometer enable monitoring of the system condition.

Two evaporators are provided for refrigeration and freezing applications and can be selected through solenoid valves. An adjustable electrical heater in the refrigeration chamber provides a variable cooling load, allowing the effect of changing loads on the secondary controllers to be studied.
