Axial Steam Turbine Teaching Equipment

The Axial Steam Turbine is a single-stage axial impulse turbine designed for practical study and demonstration of steam turbine operating principles. The turbine is mounted in corrosion-resistant, sealed ball bearings and is loaded using an eddy current brake.

The system includes a water-cooled coiled-tube condenser and can receive steam from either a gas-fired or electrically heated steam generator. Various safety devices are provided for safe operation.

Sensors and a digital indicator enable measurement of speed, temperature, pressure and flow rate. PC-based data acquisition via USB under Windows is provided for recording and analyzing experimental data.
