Behavior of a Piston Compressor Teaching Equipment

Behavior of a Piston Compressor is designed as a practical test stand for investigating the operating behavior and performance characteristics of a piston compressor. The system uses an open, two-cylinder compressor driven by an asynchronous motor, with a frequency converter for variable speed adjustment.

The inlet and outlet pressures can be adjusted using valves, allowing students to investigate the effect of pressure ratio and operating conditions on compressor performance. The system is equipped with instruments and sensors for measuring flow rate, pressure, temperature, speed and torque.

An integrated PLC provides data acquisition, while stored measured values can be accessed via Ethernet. The setup is suitable for practical studies of compressor characteristics, energy performance and operating behavior in refrigeration and thermal engineering laboratories.
