Bidirectional Earthquake Shaking Machine Teaching Equipment

Biotechnical Production of Ethanol is designed for practical teaching and laboratory investigation of the batch conversion of starch-based raw materials into ethanol. The system demonstrates the main stages of ethanol production, including mash preparation, fermentation and distillation.

The equipment includes an open mash tank with water-jacket cooling, steam injection and stirrer, along with a closed fermentation tank equipped with stirring and water-jacket cooling/heating. A distillation unit with three bubble-cap trays, dephlegmator, condenser and stirrer is provided for separation and recovery of the ethanol product.

Two air-operated diaphragm pumps are used for mash transfer, while metering pumps provide controlled addition of acid and caustic for pH adjustment in the mash tank. PID controllers allow adjustment of injected heating steam, cooling-water flow rates and head temperature.

The complete system is controlled by a PLC and operated through a touch screen. Data acquisition via USB supports recording and analysis of experimental measurements.
