Energy Losses in Bends and Fittings Teaching Equipment

This experimental unit is designed for the investigation of pressure losses during flow through various pipe fittings and a ball valve. The system allows practical study of sudden contraction, sudden enlargement, pipe bends, segment bends, pipe angles and ball valve flow characteristics.

Annular chambers enable precise pressure measurement at different points in the flow path. Six tube manometers provide visual pressure readings, while a Bourdon tube pressure gauge is used for additional pressure measurement. The flow rate is determined using a suitable base module, and the water supply can be provided through the base module or directly from the laboratory supply.
