Free and Forced Vortex Profiles Teaching Equipment

The Free and Forced Vortex Teaching Equipment is designed for practical demonstration and study of free and forced vortex formation in fluids. It provides a self-contained setup with its own pump, water storage reservoir and supporting table, allowing experiments to be performed independently.

The equipment enables students to observe different vortex profiles using three discharge funnels of different diameters. Forced vortex formation is produced by a DC motor, while the rotational speed can be precisely adjusted and monitored using a speed sensor and digital revolution counter.

A transparent water reservoir provides clear visibility of vortex formation and fluid behavior. A steel scale with horizontal and vertical vernier is provided for measuring and studying the vortex profile. The equipment also includes a drain valve for convenient water removal and a spirit level for proper leveling of the setup.
