Frost Formation Setup Teaching Equipment

Frost Formation Setup is designed for practical teaching and investigation of frost formation in refrigeration systems and different defrosting methods. The system enables students to study the climate inside a refrigeration chamber, frost formation processes and the effects of different defrosting techniques.

The refrigeration system is equipped with two separately switchable evaporators controlled by solenoid valves. Electric defrost heating and hot gas defrosting are provided for comparative studies. A defrost controller and defrost timer support controlled defrosting operations.

The setup includes latent and sensible cooling loads, with adjustable evaporation pressure and temperature. A heat exchanger is provided for refrigerant superheating and supercooling. Temperature and humidity inside the refrigeration chamber can be digitally displayed, while the refrigerant mass flow rate can be calculated from recorded measured values.

The system supports data acquisition and online representation of the h-x diagram for analysis of refrigeration and air-conditioning processes.
