+91 98967 93832Water turbines are turbomachines that utilize the energy of flowing water. The Pelton turbine is an impulse turbine in which the pressure energy of water is converted into kinetic energy through a nozzle. The accelerated water jet is directed tangentially onto the blades of the Pelton wheel and redirected by approximately 180°, transferring its momentum to the turbine wheel.
This experimental unit is designed as a model of a Pelton turbine for demonstrating the operating principle of an impulse turbine. The unit consists of a Pelton wheel, adjustable needle nozzle, band brake for loading the turbine and a housing with a transparent front panel.
The transparent cover allows clear observation of the water flow, Pelton wheel and nozzle during operation. The nozzle cross-section and resulting flow rate can be adjusted by changing the position of the nozzle needle. Turbine torque is determined through force measurement using a band brake and spring balances. A non-contact speed sensor is used to measure rotational speed, while a manometer displays the water pressure at the turbine inlet.
The experimental unit can be positioned easily and securely on a suitable base module work surface. Water can be supplied and the flow rate measured through the base module or alternatively through a laboratory water supply.
Manufactured by Atico Export with a focus on precision, durability and consistent performance for technical education and practical training applications.
