+91 98967 93832Water turbines are turbomachines that utilize water power. The Pelton turbine is an impulse turbine in which the pressure energy of water is converted into kinetic energy in the distributor. The water jet is accelerated through a nozzle and directed tangentially onto the blades of the Pelton wheel. The water jet is redirected by approximately 180° within the blades, transferring its impulse to the wheel.
This teaching equipment is designed to demonstrate the operating principle and performance of a Pelton impulse turbine. The experimental unit consists of a Pelton wheel, adjustable needle nozzle, band brake for loading the turbine and a housing with a transparent front panel. The transparent cover allows clear observation of the water flow, Pelton wheel and nozzle during operation.
The nozzle needle can be adjusted to change the nozzle cross-section and flow rate. Turbine torque is determined through force measurement using a band brake and spring balances. A non-contact speed sensor is used to measure rotational speed, while a pressure gauge indicates the water pressure at the turbine inlet.
The unit can be positioned securely on a suitable base module. Water supply and flow rate measurement can be provided through the base module or alternatively through the laboratory water supply.
Manufactured by Atico Export with a focus on precision, durability and consistent performance for technical education and practical training applications.
