Pump Variations Training Set Teaching Equipment

Pump Variations Training Set is designed for practical teaching and experimentation with various pump types, including centrifugal pumps and positive displacement pumps. The training set includes two centrifugal pumps, one piston pump as a positive displacement pump and a self-priming side-channel pump.

The side-channel pump primarily operates as a centrifugal pump and, depending on the liquid level, can also operate as a positive displacement pump. As a special feature, it also permits gases to be pumped. The pumps investigated operate with water in a closed circuit.

The system enables students to record pump performance data and pressure losses in the pipeline. The centrifugal pumps can be operated in parallel or series configuration. Each pump is driven by a separate three-phase AC motor. The speed of the centrifugal pump motors can be variably adjusted using a frequency converter.

All motors are mounted on swivel bearings, allowing torque to be measured using a force sensor and enabling determination of the mechanical drive power output. One free position is equipped with a reversible three-phase AC motor with variable speed and can be used for mounting an additional pump.

The trainer is operated and controlled by an integrated PLC with touch screen. An integrated router allows alternative operation and control via an end device. The user interface can be displayed on up to 10 end devices through screen mirroring. Measured values can be stored internally via the PLC.
