+91 98967 93832In hydrostatics, the metacenter is an important point for assessing the stability of floating bodies. Stability refers to the ability of a floating body to return to its upright position after being tilted. The metacenter is determined from the intersection of the buoyancy vector and the vessel’s axis of symmetry at a specific angle of heel.
This experimental unit is designed to investigate the stability of a floating body and determine the metacenter graphically. The buoyancy of the floating body can also be determined. The experiment is conducted in a water-filled tank using a transparent floating body with a rectangular frame cross-section.
Horizontally and vertically movable clamped weights allow adjustment of the center of gravity and heel. The positions of the weights can be read directly from the scales, while a clinometer indicates the angle of heel. The setup is simple and suitable for practical experiments and small-group laboratory work.
Manufactured by Atico Export with a focus on precision, durability and consistent performance for technical education and practical training applications.
