+91 98967 93832Thermal insulation in building planning is an important area of construction physics. Appropriate insulation measures and component designs help maintain a comfortable indoor climate throughout the year while reducing energy consumption. This is achieved by using building materials with high thermal resistance and low heat transmission.
This Thermal Conductivity of Building Materials Teaching Equipment is designed for investigating the thermal conductivity of different non-metallic building and insulation materials. The equipment allows practical determination of thermal conductivity and thermal resistance using samples made from different materials, including Armaflex, chipboard, PMMA (acrylic glass), Styrofoam, Polystyrene (PS), Polyoxymethylene (POM), cork and plaster.
The samples have identical dimensions and are placed between a heated plate and a water-cooled plate. A clamping mechanism provides reproducible contact pressure and effective thermal contact. The hot plate is heated using an electric heating element, while the cold plate is cooled with water.
Temperature sensors measure the temperatures at the cooling water inlet and outlet and at the center of both plates. Temperature control maintains the required hot and cold plate temperatures. Heat flow through the sample is measured using a heat flux sensor, while the thermally insulated housing helps maintain stable ambient conditions.
Measured values can be transferred to a PC through a data acquisition system for analysis using compatible software.
Manufactured by Atico Export with a focus on precision, durability and consistent performance for technical education and practical training applications.
